San Antonio Spurs sensation Jeremy Sochan, known for his prowess on the court, is making headlines for his skills and vibrant canvas of tattoos, which tell his unique story. In a recent session with renowned tattoo artist Zac “Lefty” Colbert, Sochan opened up about the meaningful narratives behind his impressive ink collection.
Jeremy Sochan, the 20-year-old luminary from the San Antonio Spurs, is making waves on the basketball court and leaving an indelible mark in body art. A recent visit to tattoo maestro Zac “Lefty” Colbert’s studio unveiled a new addition to Sochan’s artistic tapestry—a hand grasping a globe adorned with markings of Poland, Germany, and the UK, significant places in his life’s journey.

Sochan’s ink journey began at 16, during a family trip to Croatia, where he got his first tattoo—a sun on his thigh—a poignant moment was shared with his stepfather, Wiktor Lipiecki, who got a matching tattoo during the same session. Since then, Sochan has crafted a visual narrative on his skin, each piece having a profound meaning.

Working with Tidal League’s Matt Mangano, Sochan shared insights into the stories behind some of his captivating tattoos. The skull with doves on his forearm is a poignant representation of life and death, where arrows point away to symbolize the departure of negative energy. The vortex surrounding the skull signifies the retention of positive energy in his life.

Moving to the outer part of his forearm, an abstract depiction of the Virgin Mary and Jesus takes center stage, inspired by a figurine gifted by his mom during his youth. A symbol of spiritual connection that has traveled with him through the twists and turns of his life.

On his shoulder, a tribute to Icarus, the character from Greek mythology, depicts the fall from the sky with inscriptions “never too high” and “never too low.” It is a constant reminder for Sochan to navigate the highs and lows of life and career with balance and resilience.
Sochan’s inked anthology extends further—a clock on his arm marking the passage of time, a tree growing out of a heart on his chest representing life and growth, a skeleton pharaoh with the eye of providence on his right shin, and an open look with crossed keys on his hand, symbolizing vision and unlocking opportunities.
For Sochan, tattoos and his distinctive hair color are more than just body adornments; they express his desire to be different. Embracing his uniqueness, Sochan echoes his mother’s advice: “Don’t be in a box, just be you.” His art and tattoos vividly reflect this sentiment, making him stand out on and off the court.
Recently named the “InkedNBA 2023 Rookie of the Year” by Inked NBA on Instagram, Sochan’s expressive journey through ink continues to captivate fans, adding an artistic flair to his already stellar basketball career.
