A permanent token of love isn’t always the best option, and several celebrities have expressed regret over getting tattoos of their exes.
The Big Bang Theory alum Kaley Cuoco is one of many who looked back on an old tattoo with remorse. After she split from ex-husband Ryan Sweeting in 2015, Kaley joked that she regretted getting her and Ryan’s wedding dates inked on her back.
“The deep, meaningful, larger-than-life meaning behind this beautiful piece of ink is … it covered the last one,” she wrote via Instagram in a since-deleted post. She followed up with another position before deleting it, writing, “Note to self, do not mark your body with any future wedding dates #under30mistakes #donttakeyourselftooseriouslykids.”

Shanna Moakler
After her ex-husband, Travis Barker fell in love with his wife, Kourtney Kardashian, Shanna had her tattoo of the Blink-182 drummer’s name removed.
“It’s my ex’s name. Don’t tattoo names on your body, kids,” Shanna said in an Instagram video in 2021.
Justin Bieber
Although Justin never mentioned regretting getting the tattoo, he tried to hide the ink of his former girlfriend Selena Gomez’s face.
“Uh, this is my ex-girlfriend. So, I kinda try to cover up her face with some shading, but people still know,” he said while pointing to the tattoo during a 2016 GQ video.
Adrienne Bailon
The former Cheetah Girl had her ex Rob Kardashian’s name inked on her butt, which she later wished she never got.
“I’ve gotten pretty bad tattoos before,” Adrienne said on The Real in 2013. “Everybody knows I have the ratchetiest booty tattoo of an ex-boyfriend. I don’t know what I was thinking. … It isn’t perfect. Ten-letter last name, Kardashian. It isn’t good, yeah. Now, that is a ratchet tattoo. I made a terrible decision. Don’t follow my example.”
Heidi Klum
The supermodel didn’t publicly address her remorse over getting her vow renewals with ex-husband Seal inked on her arm, but Heidi got the design removed after they split in 2014.
Eva Longoria
Eva had multiple tattoos dedicated to her ex-husband, Tony Parker, including their wedding date, jersey number 9, and initials. However, she got all of the designs removed after they divorced in 2011.
