Stefano Alcantara and Yomico Moreno will host the New York Empire State Tattoo Expo. It is one of the largest tattoo artist gatherings in the world.
This is the very first EXPO with a Latino host. Yomico Moreno founded the 1983 Art Studio Brooklyn, New York, and Stefano Alcantara founded the Stefano Tattoo Studio Ft. Lauderdale.
Moreno, born and raised in Puerto Cabello in Venezuela, has been tattooing since 2005. He owns his private tattoo studio in New York City. He has worked at some of the most prestigious studios on different continents and countries, including Venezuela, Switzerland, and Europe.
He collaborated in 2021 with The Rock for the “Evolution of the Bull Tattoo” and a documentary on the process. He opened Yomico Art Studio in New York, his private studio.
“Being selected as the host for The New York Empire State Tattoo Expo is an honor and a privilege this year. “As an industry leader and proud Latino, I believe that inclusion and representation are critical to moving tattoo culture forward,” said he in a press release.
Meanwhile, Alcántara was born and raised in Lima, Perú. He received a Graphic Design degree from the Peruvian Institute of Advertising. Stefano, who has a graphic design background and has taken many painting classes, was influenced by comics when he was a youngster. His fascination with art turned into a career, and he opened his shop, Stefano ́s Tattoo Studio, in 1999, which remains thriving today. He leads the world’s largest Tattoo Convention, New York Empire State Tattoo Expo.
The Expo will feature curated programming, live tattooing, and a meet-and-greet with world-famous tattoo artists, including Inkmaster tattoo artists seen on TV. The New York Empires State Expo has confirmed Carlos Torres as a speaker, along with Dave Paulo and Jess Yen.
The EXPO in New York will occur from May 12 to May 14, 2023. This event, which celebrates tattoo culture by bringing together hundreds of artists, collectors, and spectators over three days, will bring together hundreds.
