After losing a leg as a young child, a woman tattooed herself.
Lisa Scheer has tattoos from head to toe and even a split tongue.
The dental technician attracted much attention during the Dortmund Tattoo Convention, which took place in Germany between June 2 and 4.
The 32-year-old began her tattooing journey after she lost her leg as an infant.
She got her first tattoo to celebrate her victory over cancer, which had taken one of her legs.
Lisa said, “I had bone cancer when I was a kid and had my right leg amputated.”
After the illness, I joined the punk culture at 14 years old, and got my first tattoo, as well as my first piercing.
Lisa describes her self as a model and tattoo artist on Instagram, where she boasts more than 35,200 fans.
Now she is able to walk using a prosthetic.
She views her body as “a book of my life that shows my memories, my thoughts, my feelings, and my motivations”.
“Of course I’m used if people stare at me.” Lisa continued, “I’m also often complimented on my appearance.”
“If I have children, I would explain to them how tattoos allow me to express my self.”
The 26th Dortmund Tattoo Convention, held in Germany over the weekend, attracted more than 25,000 attendees.
Martin Siedler, organizer of the Dortmund Fair, stated: “The Dortmund fair has the most vibrant conventions in the world.”
